Who is the New Chief Information Commissioner of Odisha? Meet Manoj Kumar Parida!


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has appointed Manoj Kumar Parida, a retired IAS officer, as the new Chief Information Commissioner for the state Information Commission as of Wednesday.


Parida takes over from J K Tripathy. He is a member of the 1986 IAS batch and has held the position of Insurance Ombudsman in Bhubaneswar since July 2022.


Previously, he served as the chief secretary of Puducherry and was an adviser to the Chandigarh Administrator.


According to an official announcement from the Chief Minister's Office, the government has also appointed retired IPS officer Pranabindu Acharya, advocate Kalpana Pattnaik, and retired IAS officer Pabitra Mandal as Information Commissioners.


The Odisha Information Commission was established on March 2, 2006, in accordance with the Right to Information Act of 2005.
