A New Era in Bihar's Political Landscape


Bihar is on the brink of a significant political shift as Samrat Choudhary, a prominent BJP leader and MLA from Tarapur, is set to assume the role of chief minister. Renowned for his dynamic political approach and strong organizational capabilities, Choudhary's financial disclosures reveal substantial assets.


Together with his spouse, Choudhary's total assets are estimated at approximately Rs 11.34 crore. Their combined movable and immovable assets are valued at around Rs 4.85 crore, which includes nearly Rs 99 lakh in movable assets and Rs 3.86 crore in immovable properties like land.


His wife, Kumari Mamata, possesses a significant portion of their immovable assets, totaling around Rs 5.78 crore, with land and property valued at over Rs 5.50 crore.


According to the income tax returns for the fiscal year 2024-25, Choudhary reported an annual income of Rs 17,91,420, while his wife declared Rs 12,73,160.


Choudhary's agricultural holdings span multiple locations, including Tarapur in Munger and Manikpur and Kariho in Vaishali. He also owns non-agricultural land in Khajpura, Patna, and Tarapur. His assets include a Bolero vehicle worth Rs 7 lakh and a non-prohibited bore rifle.


His investment portfolio features Rs 4.18 lakh in equity funds, Rs 5.23 lakh in HDFC Midcap Fund, and Rs 22.42 lakh in Nippon India Retirement Fund, along with various postal savings deposits. The couple also possesses gold and silver, with each owning around 200 grams of gold jewelry, while his wife has an additional 500 grams of silver.


Choudhary's stake in a Hindu Undivided Family is valued at Rs 4.27 lakh. His two children hold immovable assets worth Rs 41.4 lakh and Rs 26.8 lakh, respectively.
