Who is Nitin Nabin? Meet the New BJP National President Shaping India's Political Landscape
Nitin Nabin Takes the Helm of BJP
New Delhi: On Tuesday, Nitin Nabin was officially announced as the new national president of the BJP, taking over from J P Nadda and marking a significant moment for the party as it aims to strengthen its influence in Indian politics.
K Laxman, the Returning Officer for the BJP's organizational elections, revealed the results and presented the election certificate to the 45-year-old Nabin, who is now the youngest individual to hold this prestigious position.
The transition of leadership was witnessed by prominent figures including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, J P Nadda, and senior ministers such as Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and Nitin Gadkari at the BJP headquarters.
Nabin, who was born in 1980—the same year the BJP was established—has now become the party's 12th president.
Previously, he held the position of minister for law and justice, urban development, and housing in the Bihar government but stepped down after being appointed as the working president of the BJP on December 14.
Laxman emphasized that this election reflects the BJP's ethos where leadership is earned through hard work and commitment rather than through family connections.
Nadda expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Nabin, highlighting the historic significance of the day as the party welcomes a young, dynamic leader to guide the world's largest political party.
