CJP Founder Announces New Campaign Phase

New Delhi: Just weeks after concluding a 36-day protest at Jantar Mantar, Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), revealed that the second season of their campaign is set to launch soon.

During a gathering in Naraina, Delhi, Dipke criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the police's actions on July 20 against CJP demonstrators who attempted to march towards Parliament, demanding an apology from him.

He questioned, "Why is Amit Shah avoiding Parliament? He should apologize for the police brutality on July 20, where pellet guns and tear gas were used under his orders."

Dipke claimed that the venue for their meeting was canceled due to pressure from the BJP, stating, "This is just the beginning of Season 2. Many on Instagram have been inquiring about its start, and I assure you it will commence shortly at Jantar Mantar."

He emphasized that attempts to hinder their meeting only provided them with a stronger platform for mobilization.

"The more they oppose us, the more it benefits us. They fail to grasp how to handle our movement. They thought cutting off our resources at Jantar Mantar would make us retreat, but we stood firm," he added.

Dipke noted that the closed-door meeting had transformed into a public event, suggesting that the authorities might be inadvertently promoting their cause.

The CJP had suspended its nationwide protests on July 25 after negotiations with the government. Their agitation at Jantar Mantar, focused on the NEET paper leak issue, garnered significant support from students and young activists across the nation, as well as from opposition leaders.

He also mentioned the challenges they faced in securing a venue for their meeting, with many locations refusing to host them.

"We had booked a hall for our volunteer meeting, but we faced numerous rejections. Many venues warned us that hosting us would lead to repercussions," he explained to reporters.

Dipke accused the BJP of intimidating venue owners, stating, "They threaten that anyone who accommodates us will face consequences."

The meeting aimed to strategize on enhancing the agitation in Jharkhand, led by student leader Devendra Nath Mahto, who is currently on a hunger strike, and to advance the CJP's campaign for rural education.

Dipke remarked, "The Ranchi protest is spearheaded by Devendra Mahto, who is on a hunger strike. Our volunteers are actively supporting him. Today, we planned to discuss ways to bolster the Jharkhand movement and continue our educational initiatives in villages."

In a post on X, he expressed, "We envision an India where children proudly carry the tricolor to school instead of selling it at traffic signals due to poverty."

The CJP's previous agitation at Jantar Mantar resulted in the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Activist Sonam Wangchuk joined the protest on June 28 and later undertook an indefinite hunger strike, requiring hospitalization due to health issues.

The police intervened during the July 20 protest as demonstrators attempted to approach Parliament, prompting opposition parties to raise the matter in the House.

Following the conclusion of their agitation, the CJP announced its national team, appointing Dipke as the national convener as they work towards establishing a structured organization.
