Union Minister Backs New Committee for Kotia Villages

Bhubaneswar: On Friday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed his support for the Odisha government's recent decision to establish a committee dedicated to resolving the ongoing issues faced by the Kotia villages. Pradhan emphasized on his social media platform that Kotia is a vital part of Odisha, and the connection with its residents is profound.

The newly formed committee, which consists of 16 members and is led by the Revenue Minister, aims to tackle the persistent challenges in the Kotia villages located in the Koraput district. Its mission includes ensuring that local residents can access various welfare programs offered by both the Central and state governments.

Pradhan expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi for initiating this effort, recalling his previous visit to Kotia where he committed to protecting Odisha's geographical and cultural integrity. He mentioned that he had previously reached out to former chief ministers of both Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, advocating for a lasting and peaceful resolution to the Kotia situation.

He criticized the previous administration for not addressing the issue despite multiple requests. With the state government's new initiative, Pradhan is optimistic that the local community will now be able to take advantage of numerous welfare schemes under the 'Double Engine Government'.
