Political Developments in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: TKS Elangovan, a prominent figure in the DMK, announced on Friday that the party will explore alternative political strategies only after the Governor's deadline for the TVK to establish a government has lapsed.

In a statement to the media, Elangovan highlighted that the Governor has set May 10 as the deadline for TVK to demonstrate its capability to form a government. He remarked, "We need to wait and observe. The Governor has provided time until the 10th. Only after that can we consider other options," addressing questions about the ongoing political stalemate.

When queried about the potential for DMK to extend support to the AIADMK, Elangovan clarified that no such decision has been reached. He stressed that the party is currently monitoring the actions of other political entities.

Regarding the positions of alliance partners like VCK and CPI, he mentioned that he was not informed of their final decisions, indicating that those parties would chart their own paths. These comments come at a crucial juncture in Tamil Nadu's political landscape as the state anticipates the results of TVK's attempts to gather support following recent Assembly sessions.
