Protest Against NEET Irregularities Gains Momentum

New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has called upon farmer organizations to join their ongoing protest against alleged irregularities in examinations and the NEET paper leak. Founder Abhijeet Dipke announced that the demonstration at Jantar Mantar will continue into Monday, anticipating increased participation.

On the second day of the protest, Dipke urged farmer unions to lend their support and reiterated the demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Dipke expressed optimism about the turnout, stating that the crowd is expected to grow as farmer unions have pledged their support for the cause.

He raised concerns about Delhi Police requesting Aadhaar card information and addresses from individuals donating water and bananas to the protesters.

Dipke criticized the police's actions, questioning the extent to which the government has influenced their operations.

In response, a senior police official confirmed that security measures would remain in place at the protest site, emphasizing that they are monitoring the situation closely.

The officer noted that they have comprehensive details about the protesters and will ensure that law and order is maintained.

Dipke appealed to the farming community, highlighting the solidarity shown by students during farmers' protests and urging them to reciprocate.

He called on farmers nationwide to join the students at Jantar Mantar, emphasizing the need for unity in their fight for justice.

By Sunday evening, hundreds had gathered at the protest site, with supporters engaging in clapping, playing traditional instruments, and singing songs.

In a series of posts on social media, the CJP declared their commitment to the protest, stating they would not leave until Pradhan resigns and that the movement would only grow stronger.

Dipke encouraged the public to come to Jantar Mantar and invited NEET candidates to join after their examinations.

The protest commenced on Saturday afternoon amid heavy police presence, including CCTV surveillance and barricades.

Despite police announcements limiting the gathering to a specific time, Dipke and many supporters remained overnight.

The sit-in continued into Sunday, with protesters chanting slogans demanding accountability regarding the NEET paper leak.

Earlier, Dipke urged police not to obstruct access to Jantar Mantar, asserting that the protesters seek justice for affected students.

He also requested the restoration of water supply to public restrooms at the protest site, claiming it had been cut off since Saturday night.

Initially, protesters reported restrictions on access to water, food, and washrooms, but later confirmed that drinking water was restored and lights were turned back on.

Dipke assured that the protest would remain peaceful and reiterated his call for dialogue with the government, contingent on accountability and the resignation of the education minister.

Hundreds of young supporters gathered at Jantar Mantar after Dipke's call to bring utensils, creating a lively atmosphere with noise and slogans.

Dipke has also demanded compensation of Rs 1 crore for families of students who allegedly took their lives following the examination controversy.

He stated that he would willingly face arrest if necessary.

Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who joined the protest, announced plans for a hunger strike on June 27 if Pradhan does not resign.

This marks the second protest organized by the CJP at Jantar Mantar, focusing on the NEET paper leaks and demanding government accountability.
