Parliament's Budget Session Set to Begin
New Delhi: The Parliament's Budget session is anticipated to kick off on January 28, with the Union Budget scheduled for presentation on February 1, which falls on a Sunday.
According to officials referencing the preliminary timetable established by the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, President Droupadi Murmu is set to deliver a joint address to both Houses on January 28.
This address marks the traditional opening of the first Parliament session of the year.
The two Houses will not convene on January 29 due to the Beating Retreat ceremony.
Parliament will reconvene on January 30, when the Economic Survey is expected to be presented.
On January 31, both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will remain adjourned.
The Union Budget will be introduced on February 1, a Sunday.
Following discussions regarding the Motion of Thanks on the President's address and the Union Budget, Parliament will take a break for nearly a month starting February 13.
The session will resume on March 9 and is projected to conclude on April 2, a Thursday.
Typically, Parliament adjourns on a Friday; however, due to Good Friday on April 3 and the following weekend, the session may wrap up on April 2, as per officials.
This recess during the Budget session allows department-related standing committees to review the grant demands from various Union ministries and departments.
