What to Expect from the Ticket Refund Process After the Abandoned T20I Match
Refund Process Initiated After Match Cancellation
New Delhi: The fourth T20I match between India and South Africa was called off due to heavy fog and poor visibility. In response, Prem Manohar Gupta, Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA), announced that ticket refunds will begin on Friday.
Gupta assured that the UPCA is making necessary arrangements to facilitate a smooth refund process for fans who bought tickets, whether online or offline.
"The refund process will kick off tomorrow morning. Online purchasers will receive their refunds through the same method, with only service charges deducted. The full ticket price will be returned," Gupta stated.
"For those who bought tickets offline, we will establish booths at the Ekana Stadium for the refund process. An advertisement will be published in newspapers to inform spectators. Everyone will receive their full refund," he added.
Despite multiple inspections by umpires K.N. Ananthapadmanabhan and Rohan Pandit, along with reserve umpire J.R. Madanagopal, the match was ultimately abandoned at 9:30 PM at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium.
"We regret that the match could not take place. All preparations were completed for the event. We appreciate the fans who traveled long distances to attend. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience," Gupta expressed.
Currently, India, under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, leads the five-match series 2-1 against South Africa. The final match is scheduled for Friday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
