What to Expect from Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge at the Upcoming 'Samvidhan Bachao Samavesh' in Bhubaneswar

Key Political Figures to Address Public Gathering
Bhubaneswar: Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, along with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, is set to speak at the 'Samvidhan Bachao Samavesh' event this Friday. Bhakta Charan Das, the president of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC), confirmed that Congress general secretary KC Venugopal will also be in attendance. According to Das, Gandhi is expected to land at Bhubaneswar airport around 11:30 AM before heading to Baramunda Ground, where he will engage with farmers and individuals affected by various projects.
Following this meeting, Gandhi, Kharge, and Venugopal will address the gathering at the 'Samvidhan Bachao Samavesh'. Das noted that while Gandhi typically speaks at large public events in Odisha before elections, this occasion is unique as there are no upcoming elections.
Das also raised concerns regarding the ongoing strike by drivers of buses, trucks, taxis, and other commercial vehicles in the state, alleging that the state government is orchestrating a political scheme to prolong the strike, thereby hindering attendance at Gandhi's rally. He emphasized that this situation is causing significant challenges for the public due to disrupted transportation of essential goods. Das called on the state government to engage in dialogue to resolve the issue, expressing Congress's support for the drivers' association.
In response to these claims, BJP state spokesperson Anil Biswal accused the Congress of exploiting the strike as a pretext. He stated that Congress leaders have recognized a lack of public interest in their rally and are now using the drivers' protest as an excuse, despite having previously announced their support for the strike.
