PM Modi Embarks on a Diplomatic Journey


New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a four-day diplomatic mission to the United Kingdom and the Maldives, aiming to strengthen India's relationships with both nations.


In his remarks before departure, Modi highlighted the robust strategic partnership between India and the UK, which has seen notable advancements in recent years.


He emphasized that the collaboration encompasses various sectors, including trade, investment, technology, defense, education, and health, among others.


Modi expressed optimism about his upcoming discussions with Prime Minister Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer, focusing on enhancing economic ties to promote growth and job creation in both nations.


Additionally, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with King Charles III during his UK visit.


Following his time in the UK, Modi will head to the Maldives at the invitation of President Mohamed Muizzu, marking a significant thaw in relations after a period of tension.


He will participate in the celebrations for the Maldives' 60th independence anniversary, which coincides with six decades of diplomatic relations between the two countries.


Modi looks forward to engaging with President Muizzu and other leaders to promote a Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership, aiming for enhanced cooperation in the Indian Ocean Region.
