Preparations Underway for PM Modi's Visit


Bhubaneswar: In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conducted a thorough review of the preparations at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar. The Prime Minister is set to be the chief guest at a public event on Friday, celebrating one year of the BJP-led government in the state.


During his inspection, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of meticulous arrangements for the Prime Minister's arrival, instructing officials to ensure that all tasks are completed by Thursday night without any oversights.


Accompanying him were Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan, Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal, State BJP In-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar, and Co-In-charge Lata Usendi, who all participated in the venue inspection.


Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja and other senior officials provided updates on the progress of the preparations.


Manmohan Samal described the upcoming visit as a 'historic moment' for both the state and the party, highlighting the extensive preparations made from the airport to Janata Maidan, where the main event will occur.


He expressed that the entire state is buzzing with excitement, stating, 'Every arrangement reflects our commitment. PM Modi's guidance will help shape our future direction. Odisha is advancing with the spirit of 'Modi-maya' governance, and this celebration will be pivotal in our development journey.'


The event is expected to unveil a vision document outlining the roadmap for 'Samruddha Odisha' by 2036, along with announcements of significant development and welfare initiatives.


Additionally, Law Minister Harichandan informed the media that the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for various developmental projects valued at over Rs 19,000 crore.


The Prime Minister will also engage with beneficiaries of the Lakhpati Didi scheme and honor approximately 25 distinguished freedom fighters from the state.


'This program showcases the Prime Minister's support and the Centre's steadfast commitment to Odisha's progress. The inauguration of projects worth over Rs 19,000 crore signifies a new chapter in our journey towards a prosperous future,' Harichandan remarked.


He also mentioned that the event might include the launch of religious initiatives, such as a digital Hundi system for online donations at the renowned Jagannath temple in Puri, depending on the final schedule.


In light of the Prime Minister's visit on June 20, the Odisha Police have implemented extensive security measures.


Police Commissioner Suresh Dev Dutta Singh assured that comprehensive security protocols are in place to guarantee a safe and smooth event.


'We have coordinated with various agencies, including the State Police and Central Armed Police Forces, to ensure adequate security coverage at all critical points. A traffic advisory has been issued, and crowd management strategies have been developed to minimize public inconvenience while maintaining high safety standards during the Prime Minister's visit,' Singh stated.
