What to Expect from J.P. Nadda's Upcoming Visit to Odisha: Key Events and Initiatives

Bhubaneswar: J.P. Nadda, the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Union Minister, is set to visit Odisha for two days starting Friday.

According to statements made by Manmohan Samal, the president of the Odisha BJP unit, Nadda is expected to arrive at Bhubaneswar airport around 1 p.m. on April 11.

Following his arrival, he will travel to Cuttack to officially launch the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) during a significant event at Bali Jatra Ground on Friday afternoon.

The launch ceremony will be attended by Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, along with other prominent leaders.

Samal highlighted that approximately 3.5 crore residents of Odisha will benefit from the implementation of AB-PMJAY in the state.

He also mentioned that citizens will have access to medical services at 29,000 empaneled hospitals nationwide.

Previously, under the former government, treatment was available at only 978 empaneled hospitals, a number that will significantly increase with the introduction of AB-PMJAY.

This initiative will provide free advanced medical treatment to both residents of Odisha and those living outside the state at 29,000 hospitals across the country.

Additionally, senior citizens aged 70 and above, regardless of their socio-economic background, will receive comprehensive benefits under the Ayushman Vay Vandana scheme.

It is noteworthy that the state government has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the central government to integrate AB-PMJAY with the Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (GJAY).

Samal also informed the media that the Union Health Minister will inaugurate the new building of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Paediatrics in Cuttack.

Nadda's itinerary includes visits to the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology and AIIMS in Bhubaneswar.

On Saturday, a training program for party MLAs and MPs will commence in Puri, starting on the evening of April 11 and continuing until April 13.

During this training camp, party members will receive instruction on various topics, including organizational, administrative, and ideological matters.
