New Delhi: On Monday, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is set to deliver a statement in the Lok Sabha concerning the ongoing situation in West Asia.
The second phase of the Budget session in Parliament is scheduled to commence on the same day.
As per the updated agenda for the Lok Sabha released on Sunday evening, Dr. Jaishankar's address will focus on the developments in West Asia.
Up until Saturday, the only official item on the agenda for Monday was a resolution from the opposition calling for the removal of Om Birla as the Lok Sabha Speaker.
The opposition has insisted on a debate regarding the West Asia situation during the session.
India is actively monitoring the changing circumstances in West Asia, particularly regarding the safety of its citizens who are currently in the region.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has reported that over 52,000 Indians have returned home following the partial reopening of airspace in the area.
