Protests Erupt Across the Valley

Srinagar: On Saturday, various parties within the INDIA bloc organized protest marches throughout the Valley, responding to allegations of vote manipulation linked to the Election Commission's (EC) operations and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

These demonstrations, part of a broader nationwide movement by the INDIA bloc, took place not only in Srinagar but also in multiple district headquarters across the region.

In Srinagar, numerous members from the Congress, National Conference, and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gathered at the Congress headquarters on M A Road, voicing their discontent against the BJP-led central government and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, calling for his resignation.

As the protestors attempted to advance towards the main road, law enforcement intervened, preventing them from leaving the Congress office complex.

The demonstration persisted for a while before concluding peacefully.

Similar protests were also conducted at various district headquarters throughout the Valley.
