What Sparked the Police Baton Charge on CJP Protesters Near Parliament?
Police Action Against CJP Protesters
New Delhi: A baton charge was executed by law enforcement near Parliament Street as thousands of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) supporters allegedly attempted to breach barricades while heading towards Parliament on Monday.
Around 11:25 AM, demonstrators tried to push past several barricades set up in the high-security area, according to reports.
This led to a tense situation where both protesters and police officers experienced minor injuries.
Sources indicate that approximately 10 to 15 protesters were detained during the incident.
To ensure public safety and prevent the crowd from advancing towards Parliament, a significant number of uniformed police, along with plainclothes officers, were deployed in the vicinity.
However, New Delhi's Deputy Commissioner of Police, Sachin Sharma, claimed that no Delhi Police personnel had used force against the protesters up to that point.
