Government Response to Air India Plane Crash


Mumbai: In response to the recent Air India plane crash, the government is establishing a high-level multi-disciplinary committee aimed at enhancing aviation safety standards.


The Boeing 787-8 aircraft, which was en route to London, tragically crashed shortly after its departure from Ahmedabad airport, carrying 242 individuals.


Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu announced on Thursday that the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has commenced a formal investigation, adhering to the international guidelines set forth by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).


Naidu, who visited the crash site, stated, “Furthermore, the government is forming a specialized committee of experts from various fields to thoroughly investigate the incident.”


He emphasized that the committee's primary objective will be to bolster aviation safety measures and avert similar occurrences in the future.
