What Makes the MITS Mega Food Park a Beacon of Hope in Rayagada?
Minister Highlights the Importance of MITS Mega Food Park
Rayagada: On Friday, Krushna Chandra Patra, the Minister for State Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, lauded the MITS Mega Food Park located in Rayagada district, describing it as a source of pride for the region. During his tour of the facility in Bujabal, situated in the Kolnara block, he emphasized that the park has significantly empowered local youth by creating job opportunities for 100 residents.
The minister firmly rejected claims of any irregularities, labeling them as "entirely unfounded." He praised the food park as a well-organized and forward-thinking initiative. His visit included inspections of various production units, such as those for soft drinks, rice processing, and cold storage, where he engaged with employees to learn about their experiences and how the facility has aided their journey towards self-sufficiency. Accompanying him were MITS Group Chairman Balakrushna Panda, CEO Sriram Panda, and Vice President Biswajit Panda. He later joined a gathering of staff, students, and faculty, acknowledging the park's role in fostering regional development.
Despite having internal water systems, the park is currently facing water shortages that are affecting its operations. Minister Patra assured attendees that the state government would provide all necessary support. The visit also included senior BJP leaders such as Gopi Anand, Kaliram Majhi, and CV Gopinath, and was well-organized by MITS staff along with local college authorities.
