Celebrating 'Rasavathi' at the Nice International Film Festival


Chennai: The romantic crime drama Rasavathi, directed by Santhakumar and starring Arjun Das and Tanya Ravichandran, has received five nominations in the International competition section of the Nice International Film Festival in France.


Santhakumar shared this exciting news on his X account, expressing his gratitude: "Respect and recognition for a Tamil movie 'RASAVATHI' from FRANCE. Officially selected for the International competition in five categories. #Rasavathi."






The film has garnered significant acclaim on the international stage, securing various awards at numerous film festivals worldwide.


Notably, Arjun Das received the Best Actor award at the 15th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival for his portrayal of Sadasiva Pandiyan, a Siddha doctor, in a competition that featured over 700 entries.


Previously, he also won the Best Actor accolade at the New Jersey Indian and International Film Festival in 2024 for the same role.


Earlier this year, Rasavathi was honored with the Best Sound Design award at the London International Film Festival 2025, where sound engineer Tapas Nayak's work stood out among nine other films.


The competition included titles like Nobody wants to shoot a woman and Black, Queer & Done.


In addition to Arjun Das and Tanya Ravichandran, the film features a talented cast including Sujith Shankar, Ramya Subramanian, G.M. Sundar, Reshma Venkatesh, Sujatha, and Rishikanth.


The film's music was composed by SS Thaman, marking the third collaboration between Santhakumar and Thaman.


Cinematography was handled by Saravanan Elavarasu and Sivakumar, while V J Sabu Joseph took care of editing. Dance choreography was done by Sathish Krishnan, with art direction by Sivaraj and sound effects managed by Sethu. Tapas Nayak was responsible for sound mixing.
