What Led to the Conviction of Former MP Prajwal Revanna? Shocking Details Unveiled!
Prajwal Revanna Convicted in Sexual Abuse Case
Bengaluru: Prajwal Revanna, a former Member of Parliament and a suspended leader of the JD(S), was found guilty by a Special Court on Friday in one of the four sexual assault and rape allegations against him.
Judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat is set to determine the sentence on Saturday.
The case involves a 48-year-old woman employed as a helper at the Revanna family's Gannikada farmhouse in Holenarasipura, Hassan district. She reported being raped twice in 2021, with the incidents allegedly recorded by Revanna on his mobile device.
Revanna faces multiple charges of rape and sexual harassment, leading to the establishment of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the allegations.
He is the grandson of H D Deve Gowda, a former Prime Minister and the patriarch of the JD(S).
The allegations surfaced after pen drives containing explicit videos purportedly featuring Revanna were circulated in Hassan, coinciding with the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on April 26, 2024.
He was apprehended by the SIT on May 31 of the previous year upon his return to Bengaluru Airport from Germany, linked to a case filed at the Holenarasipura Town Police Station.
Revanna's attempt to secure the Hassan parliamentary seat in the 2024 elections was unsuccessful, resulting in his suspension from the JD(S) following the emergence of these cases.
