Opposition's Agenda for the Monsoon Session

New Delhi: On Sunday, Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi announced that the Opposition is pushing for discussions in the forthcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament regarding several pressing issues. These include the alleged misappropriation of donations at the Ram Temple, concerns surrounding ethanol blending, student-related matters, and the ongoing situation in Manipur, as discussed in an all-party meeting led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

After the meeting, Gogoi emphasized that while the government has proposed various bills for the session, there are more critical issues that warrant attention in Parliament. He stated, "We have raised these concerns and insisted on their discussion in the House. The theft of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is particularly significant, and the government must show sensitivity towards it. Additionally, we are witnessing student protests, yet the government is not taking moral responsibility for these issues," he remarked to reporters at the Parliament complex.

Gogoi criticized the government for neglecting the people's concerns, asserting that it needs to adopt a more empathetic approach. He highlighted various topics, including ethanol, student issues, the alleged theft at the temple, and the situation in Manipur, warning that if the government continues to ignore these matters, it will face repercussions.

Samajwadi Party MP Dharmendra Yadav, who was also present at the meeting, expressed his desire for discussions regarding the alleged theft of donations at the Ram Temple and the hunger strike by activist Sonam Wangchuk. He stressed that the government cannot evade accountability concerning the alleged theft.

Yadav further accused the BJP of attempting to impose a 'dictatorship' through any proposed delimitation exercise, asserting that the Samajwadi Party would oppose such measures in every possible way.
