PM Modi arrived in Muscat on Wednesday for the final leg of his three-nation tour, where he was warmly welcomed by Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Shihab bin Tariqk Al Said, at the airport, followed by a ceremonial Guard of Honour.
This marks PM Modi's second visit to Oman, highlighting the strengthening ties between India and Oman.
The Indian community in Muscat gave PM Modi a rousing welcome, waving flags and chanting slogans as they celebrated his arrival.
This visit is particularly significant as it coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Oman, following Sultan Haitham bin Tariq's state visit to India in December 2023, which reflects the high-level political engagement between the two nations.
India and Oman enjoy a comprehensive strategic partnership, characterized by strong collaboration across various sectors, with Oman being a key partner for India in the Gulf region, especially in energy security and maritime cooperation.
