Reza Pahlavi's Critique of the US-Iran Ceasefire

Tehran: Reza Pahlavi, the former crown prince of Iran living in exile, has voiced strong criticism regarding the recent ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran.

During a press conference held in Berlin on Thursday, he expressed skepticism about the assumption that the Iranian regime would alter its behavior, suggesting that it is unrealistic to expect those in power to suddenly adopt a pragmatic approach.

"I don’t foresee that happening," he stated, emphasizing that while diplomacy should be explored, it has already been afforded ample opportunities.

Pahlavi has been positioning himself as a potential leader for a post-theocracy Iran and has shown support for military interventions by the US and Israel in the region.

He urged European nations to increase their efforts in aiding the Iranian populace in their quest for democratic reforms.

Highlighting the dire situation, Pahlavi reported that Iranian authorities executed 19 political prisoners in just the last fortnight, with an additional 20 individuals facing death sentences.

He questioned whether the international community would take action or remain silent in the face of such atrocities.
