What Do New Satellite Images Reveal About the Damage at Pakistan's Murid Air Base?

Significant Damage at Murid Air Base Following IAF Strikes
New Delhi: Recent satellite imagery has unveiled extensive destruction at Pakistan's Murid air base, following strikes by the Indian Air Force (IAF) on May 10. The assault not only obliterated various structures but also inflicted damage on the underground facilities crucial to the air station.
High-resolution images released by Intel Lab on X reveal a significant three-meter-wide crater located just 30 meters from one of the base's two entrances. Previous satellite images had already documented the damage to the buildings and rooftops at this key site, known for its drone and missile operations.
The latest images were shared by defense analyst Damien Symon, who has been pivotal in uncovering details regarding the destruction at Pakistan's strategic airbases, including both surface and underground damage.
This report spotlights damage at Pakistan’s Murid Airbase – the Indian Air Force strike has caused structural damage to a Command & Control building, a section of the roof has collapsed as well, likely causing internal damage @TheIntelLab #Skyfi pic.twitter.com/k7O4FO0tKS

Symon noted that this facility is heavily fortified, featuring double fencing, watchtowers, and strict access control, making it a high-value target. It is believed to be designed to withstand bombardments and may have housed special equipment or provided shelter for personnel.
Located just 150 kilometers from the Line of Control, the Murid air base serves as a forward operating base for Pakistan. It supports both the Sargodha air base and the Nur Khan air base in Rawalpindi, which are critical for the operations of Pakistan's air force.
The extent of damage to the underground complex at Murid has been confirmed through comparative satellite images taken before and after the May 10 strikes.
An image from April 16 showed the buildings at the air base intact, while the post-strike images revealed significant structural damage.
Symon remarked that the facility, believed to function as a command-and-control center near the UAV complex, has suffered evident structural damage, including a collapsed roof and deteriorating outer walls.
