Bhubaneswar: On Friday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi emphasized the importance of upholding law and order, stating that it is crucial for fostering a 'Viksit Odisha' and enhancing industrial growth in the region.

During the graduation ceremony for 336 newly appointed sub-inspectors, which included 70 women, CM Majhi encouraged the officers to adhere to three key principles throughout their careers: avoid corruption, uphold discipline, and refrain from abusing their authority.

The chief minister reiterated the government's goal of establishing Odisha as a 'drug-free state' by 2029, highlighting the significant role that police will play in this initiative.

He insisted that drug trafficking networks must be confronted decisively, while police should utilize their powers to ensure justice for marginalized communities and uphold the fundamental tenet of 'Service and Protection'.

Congratulating the new sub-inspectors, Majhi urged them to adhere strictly to the government's zero-tolerance stance on corruption.

He underscored the necessity of maintaining discipline within the police force and advised the officers to exercise their authority judiciously, ensuring that the innocent are safeguarded and that criminals are held accountable under the law.
