Patna: On Monday, Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss various developmental initiatives for the state.
Kumar traveled to Delhi on Sunday afternoon and began his engagements with NDA leaders the following day.
This meeting is particularly noteworthy as it marks Kumar's first interaction with central leadership following the NDA's significant win in the Bihar Assembly elections.
During the meeting with Shah, they engaged in detailed discussions regarding several development projects aimed at enhancing Bihar's infrastructure.
Present at the discussions were Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and JD(U) MP and Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh.
Sources indicate that the leaders spent nearly an hour discussing a variety of political and administrative matters.
The talks reportedly centered on recent political shifts in Bihar, the state government's development plans, and the need for better coordination between the central and state governments.
Additionally, discussions about the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections were believed to have been part of the agenda, highlighting the meeting's political importance.
This gathering is characterized as strategic, focusing on ongoing and future development projects, governance priorities, and political strategies within the NDA.
Following the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Choudhary shared a post on his official X account stating, "Nitish Kumar met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi. The double-engine government is working at double speed for a developed Bihar."
Kumar's visit to Delhi is perceived as a move to enhance coordination between the Centre and the state, reinforcing political unity within the NDA as the new government embarks on its term in Bihar.
In the recent Assembly elections, the NDA achieved a remarkable victory, winning 202 seats and establishing a government led by Nitish Kumar.
Last week, CM Nitish also presented an ambitious plan for Bihar's comprehensive development.
