Introduction of mAadhaar for Passenger Verification

The West Central Railway in Bhopal has launched a new initiative to verify passenger identities through the mAadhaar mobile application, following recent directives from the Railway Board. This step is designed to combat unauthorized travel and the use of fraudulent Aadhaar cards or tickets booked under different names.

To enhance the identity verification process using modern technology, the mAadhaar app, created by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), will act as a reliable tool for real-time identity checks.

The application features QR code-based verification, allowing for swift and accurate validation of a passenger's Aadhaar card. Additionally, the app will soon be accessible on Handheld Terminals (HHT devices), which will help prevent the misuse of reserved tickets and identity cards, ensuring that the true identities of passengers are confirmed.
