Insightful Webinar on Stress Management
Today, the Delhi Teacher University, in collaboration with the Mental Strength Foundation, hosted a one-day online webinar focused on the topic of 'Stress and Its Management.' The event saw active participation from educators, researchers, and individuals involved in mental health.
Dr. Sanjeev Rai, the registrar of Delhi Teacher University, welcomed all distinguished speakers and participants, emphasizing the need to address the adverse effects of rising mental stress among students. Dr. Amaresh Srivastava from the Mental Strength Foundation highlighted the importance of providing mental health information and resources to all students.
The chief guest, Prof. Anu Singh Lather, the acting vice-chancellor of Delhi Teacher University, remarked that many individuals, particularly students, are currently experiencing stress, anxiety, and depression. She stressed the necessity of fostering sensitivity towards mental health, self-care, and adopting scientific stress management techniques.
The technical session featured prominent speakers such as Prof. Shubhangi Parkar (Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi), Prof. Sanjay Gupta (Dean, Vedantu Institute of Medicine, Dahanu, Gujarat), Prof. T.S.S. Rao (Professor Emeritus, JSS Institute, Thrissur; Vice President, Indian Psychiatric Society), and Siddhansh Srivastava (Research Fellow, Mental Strength Foundation), who shared their insights.
The speakers elaborated on the causes of stress, its psychological and physical impacts, and practical strategies to cope with it. They particularly emphasized workplace stress, academic pressure, emotional balance, counseling, and positive lifestyle changes. The Mental Strength Foundation also presented practical strategies and research-based approaches related to stress management.
Dr. Sanjeev Rai expressed gratitude to the speakers and stated that efforts to raise awareness about mental health will continue. He assured that such programs will be organized in the future to foster a collaborative, sensitive, and mentally healthy environment in the educational sector.
