Current Weather Conditions in India

IMD Weather LIVE Updates: Various states in India are currently experiencing a new wave of rainfall, with some areas facing heavy downpours, thunderstorms, and strong winds. The pre-monsoon activity has brought much-needed relief from the ongoing heatwave. However, cities like Bengaluru are grappling with severe rainfall that has disrupted daily life. On Wednesday, Delhi also witnessed thunderstorms along with rain and lightning.


Forecast for South Peninsular India

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), South Peninsular India is expected to experience a prolonged period of active weather this week. From May 22 to 27, widespread light to moderate rainfall, along with thunderstorms and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 km/h, is anticipated over regions including Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, and South Interior Karnataka.

The IMD has released several warnings regarding heatwave conditions, hot and humid weather, and warm nights across various regions. Isolated areas in West Rajasthan are likely to experience heatwave to severe heatwave conditions from May 22 to 23. Similar conditions are expected in parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and East Rajasthan during this timeframe. Furthermore, West Rajasthan may continue to face heatwave conditions on May 24 and 25, while South Uttar Pradesh and North Madhya Pradesh are also likely to be affected on May 22.
