Ward Seat Allocation for Phalodi and Bap Municipalities
Phalodi. On Monday, a lottery process for ward reservations was conducted at the Collectorate meeting hall under the supervision of Election Officer Ankit Kumar Singh for the Phalodi Municipality and Bap Municipality.
Priyanka Talania, the Deputy District Election Officer, informed that the lottery for 40 wards in Phalodi Municipality was carried out. Five wards have been reserved for Scheduled Castes, including two specifically for women. Based on the Scheduled Caste population, the lottery was drawn for women’s seats in wards 24, 2, 20, 35, and 37, resulting in wards 20 and 2 being reserved for women from the Scheduled Caste category.
Following this, the lottery for the Other Backward Classes (OBC) was conducted based on the remaining wards. Eight wards were reserved for the OBC category, with three specifically for women. The lottery resulted in wards 33, 8, 38, 30, 28, 21, 31, and 23 being reserved for the OBC category, while wards 33, 30, and 23 were reserved for OBC women.
In the general category, a lottery was held for 27 wards, with nine wards reserved for general women. The wards reserved for women in the general category include 9, 1, 40, 26, 11, 34, 6, 14, and 27.
The Deputy District Election Officer also mentioned that the lottery process for 20 wards in Bap Municipality was conducted afterward. Four wards were reserved for Scheduled Castes, with one specifically for women. The lottery for women’s seats in wards 3, 11, 4, and 16 resulted in ward 16 being reserved for women from the Scheduled Caste category.
Next, the lottery for the OBC category was conducted based on the remaining wards, with four wards reserved for OBCs, including one for women. The lottery resulted in wards 15, 13, 7, and 1 being reserved for the OBC category, with ward 13 reserved for OBC women.
In the general category, a lottery was conducted for 12 wards, with four wards reserved for general women. The wards reserved for women in the general category include 18, 12, 10, and 19. Representatives from various political parties were present during the lottery process.
