Kohli Addresses Rumors of Financial Payment

Virat Kohli, the former captain of Team India and a celebrated batting icon, has firmly rejected recent allegations suggesting he received INR 5 crore to visit the ashram of spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj.

The cricketer has been in the spotlight not for his on-field achievements but due to unverified claims surrounding his spiritual engagements. Dinesh Falhari, the president of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Sangharsh Nyas, alleged that a financial transaction was made to attract Kohli to promote the ashram located in Vrindavan.

Since the beginning of 2023, Kohli and his actress spouse, Anushka Sharma, have been making regular visits to Vrindavan, engaging in spiritual activities and meeting with Premanand Maharaj, who is widely regarded as a spiritual mentor to millions.

Kohli's Team Responds to Allegations

The claims made by Falhari have ignited a significant reaction on social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter), where many users have questioned the validity of such sensational assertions, leading to a prompt response from Kohli's representatives.

A spokesperson for Kohli issued a statement categorically denying the allegations, labeling them as 'false, baseless, and factually incorrect.' They emphasized that Kohli's visits to Vrindavan stem from his personal faith and devotion to Premanand Maharaj. The spokesperson also called on the media to verify the authenticity of such claims before disseminating speculative information.

"We would like to categorically state that the claims made by Falahari Maharaj Dinesh Sharma regarding Mr. Virat Kohli are completely false, baseless, and factually incorrect," the spokesperson asserted.

"Mr. Virat Kohli visits Premanand Maharaji Ji purely out of his deep faith and reverence for Maharaji Ji. We strongly refute these claims and urge the media to exercise due diligence, verify facts before reporting or amplifying such statements, and report responsibly," they added.

Kohli's Spiritual Engagements

Kohli's regular visits to Premanand Maharaj's ashram have been well-documented, with both him and Anushka Sharma frequently seeking blessings from the spiritual leader since January 2023.
