Violent Incident Over Stolen Ball Shocks Karnataka Community

A Disturbing Childhood Memory Turns Violent
Many can relate to the childhood tale of a cricket ball landing in a neighbor's yard, leading to a plea for its return or a small collection to buy a new one. However, a recent incident in Karnataka's Bagalkot district took a dark turn. On May 13, a 21-year-old man resorted to violence when a neighbor refused to return a cricket ball that had landed on his property.
The altercation unfolded on school grounds, where the ball had landed at the home of Ramappa Pujari, a 36-year-old teacher. When Pavan Jadhav, the accused, requested the ball's return, Pujari declined, asserting it was on his property. This disagreement escalated into a violent confrontation, with Jadhav attacking Pujari with a knife and broken glass.
The brutal assault left the teacher with severe facial injuries, necessitating immediate medical attention at a private hospital. Disturbing footage of the incident, captured by CCTV, has circulated widely, inciting public outrage and concern.
Local authorities acted quickly, using the video evidence to track down Jadhav, who fled the scene after the attack. This incident has raised serious concerns regarding safety in schools and highlighted the increasing aggression among youth today.
