A minor motorcycle accident in the Dhansuka area of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, escalated into violence. Reports indicate that following the collision, a heated argument ensued, during which an individual named Rizwan attacked Dharmesh Gamra with a knife, leading to Gamra's death during medical treatment. This incident has resulted in heightened tensions in the community, sparking further violent occurrences.
Appeal from the Victim's Family
Govind Bhai, the brother of the deceased Dharmesh Gamra, shared that his brother had gone to the village where the altercation took place. He expressed satisfaction with the ongoing police investigation and urged everyone to maintain peace, emphasizing the need for strict action against those responsible.
Police Response
In a swift response, law enforcement has apprehended the main suspects, Rizwan and Sameer. Additionally, around 15 to 20 individuals involved in the arson and violence have also been taken into custody.
Destruction of a Hardworking Individual's Livelihood
During the unrest, the mob targeted several properties, including the shop of Mohammad Sabir, a resident of Bihar, which was completely destroyed by fire. Sabir revealed that he had opened a puncture repair shop after taking out loans, suffering losses estimated between 5 to 5.5 lakh rupees. Tearfully, he recounted how he had to hide in fear, helplessly watching his shop burn down. He questioned why his establishment was targeted when he had come to the area solely to work hard. Now, he faces a severe crisis regarding his livelihood.
