Violence Erupts in Kanpur as Village Head's Son Clashes with Dalit Family
Incident Overview
A dispute involving Abhay, the son of village head Nidhi Yadav, escalated into violence in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. On Saturday night, Abhay and his associates reportedly invaded a Dalit settlement in the Mardha village area, causing chaos and fear among the residents. Allegations have surfaced that during this incident, a Dalit home was set ablaze, resulting in injuries to four individuals who have since been hospitalized.
The Triggering Event
Earlier that day, Abhay was transporting fodder in a tractor-trailer when he encountered an obstruction in front of Mahesh Sankhwar's house, where a mixer machine was parked and a buffalo was tied outside. This situation led to a confrontation between Abhay and Mahesh's wife, Bhagwati.
Escalation of Violence
Bhagwati's sons, Kuldeep, Shivam, and Sandeep, intervened and reportedly assaulted Abhay, injuring his face. Later that evening, Abhay returned to the Dalit settlement with 15 to 20 individuals in four cars, initiating a violent rampage. Witnesses claim that the attackers targeted Bhagwati and her sons, as well as neighbors, inflicting severe injuries.
Community Response
The attackers allegedly assaulted women by pulling their hair and used sticks to beat young men. When neighbors, including Phool Singh and his son Golu, attempted to intervene, they too were attacked. Reports indicate that the assailants fired several rounds into the air during the chaos. As villagers rushed to the scene in response to the commotion, the attackers fled.

Authorities have stated that a case is being registered regarding the incident, and efforts are underway to apprehend the suspects.
