FIR Filed After Violent Clashes at CJP Rally

New Delhi: An FIR has been lodged concerning the violent incidents that occurred on July 20 near Kartavya Path during the Sansad Chalo rally organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). The FIR lists 13 serious charges, including attempted murder, as Delhi Police allege that the demonstrators aimed to harm officers while trying to breach security barriers.

The FIR, filed at the Kartavya Path police station following a complaint from an inspector, describes how a significant number of protesters attempted to force their way past police barricades set up to restrict access to the high-security area surrounding Parliament.

The document recounts the confrontations that unfolded on Rafi Marg as protesters marched towards Parliament. When confronted, they reportedly threw stones, slippers, and other items at police officers, resulting in injuries to several personnel, according to police sources.

Additionally, the FIR claims that the protesters caused damage to government property, including police vehicles, during the unrest. Official reports indicate that over 200 police officers and more than 60 protesters sustained injuries during the clashes.

Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage, mobile videos, and other digital evidence to identify those responsible for the violence. The investigation is ongoing.

The FIR cites 13 sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 109(1) for attempted murder, along with charges related to rioting, unlawful assembly, assault on public officials, obstructing government duties, and damaging public property.

The agitation led by the CJP commenced on June 20 at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, demanding accountability for alleged irregularities in competitive exams and advocating for reforms in the education sector.
