Vinesh Phogat Reveals She is a Victim in Wrestling Allegations

Vinesh Phogat, an Olympian wrestler and Congress MLA from Jhulana, has stirred significant discussion in both the sports and political arenas by releasing a video on social media. For the first time, she publicly acknowledged that she is one of the victims among the six female wrestlers who filed complaints against the former president of the Wrestling Federation of India, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

In her heartfelt and courageous message, Vinesh revealed that she has been part of the movement against the physical abuse of female athletes that began nearly three years ago. She stated, 'The Supreme Court guidelines dictate that the identity of victims should not be disclosed, but due to certain circumstances, I am compelled to reveal my name today. I want to make it clear that I am one of the victims among the six female athletes who have come forward with complaints and testimonies.' Currently, the case is in court, and the process of testimonies is ongoing.

Vinesh also raised serious concerns regarding a ranking competition organized by the Wrestling Federation in Uttar Pradesh. She criticized the event for being held at a private educational institution owned by Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, claiming that it is impossible for athletes to receive fair judgment in such an environment. She expressed fears that the referees and scoring could be manipulated to deliberately favor or disadvantage any competitor.

Vinesh announced that she had been away from wrestling for the past year and a half but has recently resumed training. She emphasized her dedication and hard work, stating that her sole aim is to win medals for the country and elevate the pride of the national flag.
