Vijay's Campaign in Thanjavur

Vijay, the founder and president of the Tamilga Vettree Kazhagam, was in Thanjavur on Wednesday as part of his campaign for the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections. During his address, he expressed a desire to be born into a farming family in his next life. He emphasized that the government would not merely announce plans but would strive to complete all declared projects within five years. Regarding fishermen's issues, he criticized the Chief Minister for occasionally writing letters but failing to take substantial action. He stressed the need to exert genuine emotional pressure on the central government, insisting that the Sri Lankan Navy should not interfere with Indian fishermen. Ensuring their safety is our primary goal.

Vijay declared, 'Listen to me, the next government will be TVK's.' He urged fishermen to remain hopeful, assuring them that their safety would be fully guaranteed. Many voices supported him during the release of the film 'Jananayagan,' including the Chief Minister, for which he expressed gratitude. He remarked that while attempts might be made to silence him, every Vijay in every household cannot be silenced. His campaign has officially begun.

He pointed out that when citizens demand basic amenities, the state government often deflects by citing financial constraints. He criticized the government for misleading the public about the NEET exam, knowing they could not ban it. He asked, 'Do you trust Vijay or Stalin?' He assured that if any plans against farmers arise, TVK would reject them, even under pressure from the central government. He also announced that a ration shop would be opened for every 500 ration cards.

Vijay clearly stated that before the upcoming assembly elections, DMK members are framing the contest as a battle between Tamil Nadu and Delhi. He compared it to cricket, asserting that the Delhi team cannot compete with Tamil Nadu's team. 'Tamil Nadu is TVK, and TVK is Tamil Nadu,' he proclaimed, asserting that TVK would emerge victorious, disregarding all divisions between the two teams. He criticized Chief Minister Stalin's claims of safeguarding Tamil Nadu, stating that even children refer to DMK as a 'bad force.' He concluded by saying that while Tamil Nadu fans cheer for Chennai Super Kings in cricket, the upcoming elections will see the victory of the Tamilga Vettree Kazhagam (TVK).
