Hyderabad, Dec 16: On Tuesday, Telangana's Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu commemorated the valor of the nation's soldiers on Vijay Diwas.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized that Vijay Diwas serves as a poignant reminder for all citizens to honor the sacrifices made during the significant victory of the 1971 war.
He noted that the steadfast commitment, deep patriotism, and remarkable bravery exhibited by the Indian Armed Forces remain an enduring source of inspiration for future generations. The Chief Minister paid heartfelt respects to the immortal soldiers who sacrificed their lives in service to the nation.
“On this Vijay Diwas, we express our profound gratitude for the bravery, commitment, and sacrifices of our soldiers who achieved India’s historic victory in 1971. This day is a tribute to their dedication and spirit, which will inspire generations ahead,” Chandrababu Naidu shared on X.
During the Vijay Diwas observance, Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer honored the courageous soldiers of the Indian Army who served the nation with unwavering resolve during the 1971 conflict, leading to a decisive victory.
The Governor remarked that Vijay Diwas is a proud testament to India’s military prowess, unity, and strategic excellence, ensuring that the sacrifices of the Armed Forces will never be forgotten.
Telangana's Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka expressed that Vijay Diwas, marking the day Indian soldiers liberated Bangladesh through their bravery, is a significant and memorable event in history.
On this occasion, Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu paid their respects by laying wreaths at the Amar Jawan memorial located at Secunderabad Parade Ground.
Later, addressing the media, Mallu highlighted the importance of commemorating the martyrs on Vijay Diwas. He extended his respects to the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, military leaders, and all the martyrs who upheld India's honor during the war.
