Vigilance Prevents Train Derailment in Uttar Pradesh
Attempted Train Derailment Thwarted
For some time now, certain troublemakers have been plotting to inflict significant damage on Indian Railways. Over the past few months, numerous train accidents have been narrowly avoided. Instances of cylinders placed on tracks and stones obstructing trains have raised concerns about who is behind these acts. The latest incident occurred in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, where it appears that miscreants attempted to derail the Rajdhani Express.
According to police reports released on Tuesday, on Monday evening, unidentified criminals used earthing wires to tie wooden blocks on the tracks between Dalelnagar and Umratali stations. The pilot of the Rajdhani Express (20504), which was en route from Delhi to Dibrugarh in Assam, noticed the obstruction and applied the emergency brakes. He then removed the blockage and alerted railway authorities.
Following the Rajdhani Express, there was a second attempt to derail the Kathgodam Express (15044). Thanks to the alertness of the train's pilot, the incident was averted, and no harm was done. Superintendent of Police Neeraj Kumar Jadaun visited the site on Monday evening and issued necessary directives. He confirmed that teams from the Government Railway Police, Railway Protection Force, and local police are investigating the incident.
