Vice President Discusses Terrorism and Military Operations

On Saturday, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar drew comparisons between Operation Sindoor and the U.S. military's operation that led to the death of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. He referred to the attacks on nine terrorist bases as India's most significant cross-border operation, recalling the terrorist attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001. Without mentioning bin Laden by name, he noted that on May 2, 2011, the U.S. military dealt with a global terrorist responsible for planning, monitoring, and executing the September 11 attacks.

While addressing an event at the Jaipur Institute, he emphasized that India has demonstrated its capabilities, making it clear to the world. He stated that a new global standard has been established, aiming to combat terrorism while maintaining a spirit of peace. For the first time, precise strikes were conducted across the international border targeting the strongholds of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. He highlighted that these attacks were so accurate that only the terrorists were harmed.

He asserted that these were not hollow words, and the world has now recognized the reality. He further noted that the Pulwama attack, which resulted in the deaths of at least 26 individuals, was one of the deadliest assaults on civilians since the Mumbai attacks.
