VHP President Alok Kumar Calls for Investigation into Ram Mandir Donation Allegations
Clarification from VHP's Alok Kumar
Alok Kumar, the international president of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), has provided further clarification regarding his letter to the DCP of Ayodhya. He stated that the comments made by opposition leaders could significantly aid the investigation. Kumar referenced statements from Ram Gopal Yadav, who claimed that the issue involves a scam exceeding ₹20,000 crores, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who mentioned donations amounting to thousands of crores.
No Accusations, Just a Call for Evidence
Kumar emphasized that these individuals are educated and have held prominent positions for a long time, suggesting that their claims must be based on some foundation. He clarified that his letter does not contain any accusations; rather, it requests the police to seek evidence, information, or witnesses from these leaders to facilitate the investigation.
Investigation Needed to Uncover the Truth
Regarding the allegations of misappropriation of funds for the Ram Mandir, Kumar insisted that the VHP has called for a detailed investigation into each claim. He remarked, "Whether it is termed theft, looting, or dacoity, it does not matter; the truth will only emerge through an investigation." He refrained from commenting on remarks made by Nripendra Mishra, the head of the Ram Mandir construction committee.
Response to Meeting Location Change
When questioned about the relocation of the VHP's central committee meeting from Ayodhya to Delhi, Kumar took a firm stance. He asserted that there should be no questions regarding the venue of the meeting. He explained that a meeting was initially planned for June in Ayodhya, but local circumstances made it challenging to organize, leading to the postponement. Now, the meeting is set to take place in Delhi. Kumar firmly stated that no one has the right to advise or question the VHP about why the meeting is not being held in Ayodhya, as the organization is free to convene wherever it deems fit.
