VHP Criticizes Congress Leader's Controversial Remarks on Operation Sindoor

Vinod Bansal, the national spokesperson for the Vishva Hindu Parishad, has sharply criticized Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar's controversial comments regarding Operation Sindoor. Bansal argues that Aiyar's statements reflect Congress's anti-Hindu and pro-Pakistan positions, distancing the party from the cultural sentiments of the majority community. This criticism follows Aiyar's suggestion for dialogue with Pakistan after a significant military operation was launched in response to a terrorist attack. The BJP has rallied behind Bansal's remarks, further intensifying the political discourse surrounding these issues.

VHP Criticizes Congress Leader's Controversial Remarks on Operation Sindoor

VHP's Strong Response to Congress Leader's Comments

The national spokesperson for the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Vinod Bansal, expressed strong disapproval on Monday regarding the controversial remarks made by senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar about halting Operation Sindoor. In a conversation with a news agency, Bansal stated that Aiyar's comments reveal Congress's anti-Hindu stance and its support for Pakistan. He emphasized that the Congress party has completely distanced itself from the cultural and religious sentiments of the majority community, asserting that there is no connection between Congress and Hindutva.

Bansal argued that this ideological separation is a primary reason for the party's ongoing electoral defeats. He pointed out that Congress's anti-Hindu and pro-Pakistan stance is evident to everyone. He remarked that these are the same leaders who insult India while visiting Pakistan and are now calling for the cessation of Operation Sindoor, which is why Congress is facing electoral setbacks. He reiterated that Congress has no ties to Hindutva.

This incident arose following the release of a video featuring senior Congress leader and former minister Mani Shankar Aiyar, in which he suggested that the current BJP government should engage in dialogue with Pakistan to ease tensions after the strategic military operation, Operation Sindoor, initiated by India in May 2025 following a severe terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Aiyar advocated for continuous communication with Islamabad, warning that adopting a hardline approach against a nuclear-armed neighbor could lead to catastrophic consequences.

Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7, 2025, targeting terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan and POK after the massacre of 26 individuals in Pahalgam. The government has stated that the operation is 'still ongoing.' Aiyar's call to end it has provided new momentum to the BJP and its ideological allies. The BJP has supported Bansal's sentiments, with spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala sarcastically referring to Congress as the 'Islamabad National Congress.'
