Caracas, July 1: The people of Venezuela have expressed heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional medical care provided by Indian healthcare professionals at the Army field hospital, which was set up in response to the catastrophic earthquake.

A woman featured in a video released by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) conveyed her gratitude, stating, "We are truly thankful for the outstanding work you are doing for us Venezuelans." She became emotional while acknowledging the perfect medical assistance she received.

"The care you are providing is remarkable, especially during these challenging times. Your compassion and attention are commendable. Thank you! May God bless you always. I am forever grateful!" she added.

Another local resident also praised the excellent care she received at the Army Field Hospital, highlighting the dedication of the medical specialists.

In response to the devastating twin earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on June 24, which resulted in over 1,400 fatalities and extensive destruction, India initiated 'Operation Amistad' to assist Venezuela.

Additional footage showed locals receiving timely medical attention at the Army Field Hospital.

The Indian Army shared a video of a 79-year-old woman who was treated after being rescued from a collapsed structure. The medical team stabilized her fracture and began advanced wound care, ensuring she received daily follow-up treatment.

"Operation Amistad: A Lifeline Amidst the Rubble. The Indian Army Field Hospital continues to be a source of hope, providing compassionate medical care to those in need," stated the Indian Army's Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI) on X.

"For a 79-year-old survivor, being rescued from the debris was just the start of her challenges. Trapped with a fractured leg and suffering from peripheral arterial disease, she faced severe complications due to delayed medical care. The team not only stabilized her condition but also provided specialized medical support and renewed hope for her recovery. India stands in solidarity with the Venezuelan people, reaffirming its commitment to humanitarian aid," they added.

The humanitarian aid from India arrived in Venezuela on June 28. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar expressed optimism that the Field Hospital Unit, along with relief supplies, medicines, and medical equipment, would enhance the ongoing post-earthquake relief efforts in the nation.

"Indian assistance has reached Venezuela. I am confident that the Field Hospital Unit, relief supplies, medicines, and medical equipment will strengthen the ongoing post-earthquake relief efforts in the country," EAM Jaishankar posted on X.

India has dispatched a specialized medical contingent from the Indian Army to support the earthquake-affected regions of Venezuela.
