Lancers Secure 4-2 Win Against Ranchi Royals
In an exciting match at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium in Chennai, Vedanta Kalinga Lancers emerged victorious with a score of 4-2 against Ranchi Royals in the Men's Hockey India League (HIL) on Sunday. The Lancers' goals came from Alexander Hendrickx (7', 28') and Gursahibjit Singh (16', 26'), while Ranchi Royals found the net through Tom Boon (1') and Mandeep Singh (9').
Fast-Paced Start with Early Goals
Ranchi Royals kicked off the match with an impressive start, scoring within the first minute. Tom Boon (1') capitalized on a penalty corner opportunity, executing a powerful dragflick to put the Royals ahead.
Despite Ranchi's early dominance, Vedanta Kalinga Lancers quickly regrouped and earned a penalty corner in the seventh minute. Alexander Hendrickx (7') leveled the score with a precise flick past the goalkeeper.
Just two minutes later, Ranchi regained the lead when Mandeep Singh (9') scored after receiving a well-placed pass from Vishnukant Singh.
