Historic Selection for Indian Cricket Team

On Saturday, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla expressed his admiration for the inclusion of 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the Indian cricket team. Sooryavanshi's selection makes him the youngest player ever to join the national team, surpassing a record held by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar for 36 years. Tendulkar debuted for India against Pakistan in 1989 at the age of 16, a record that stood the test of time.

'A Remarkable Choice'

In an interview, Shukla remarked, "This is indeed a remarkable choice. A well-balanced team has been assembled for the tours to England and Ireland, the India A squad for Sri Lanka, and the Asian Games in Japan. Shreyas Iyer's appointment as captain is a commendable decision; congratulations to him. Young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi now has the opportunity to shine on the international stage, which is a significant milestone. Expectations are high for him to excel. Congratulations to him as well. The BCCI has done an excellent job in selecting the teams, and I am confident we will achieve success in the upcoming tours and the ongoing series against Afghanistan."
