Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Poised for Historic India Call-Up at 15

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, a promising young cricketer, is on the verge of making his international debut for India at the age of 15 during the upcoming Ireland tour in 2026. This milestone could see him break Sachin Tendulkar's long-standing record as the youngest player to debut for the national team. With strong backing from BCCI officials and IPL chairman Arun Dhumal, who praises his exceptional performance, Vaibhav's potential call-up has generated significant excitement. If he continues to impress, he could become a regular member of the national squad.

Potential Debut for Young Cricketer

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is on the verge of receiving his first call-up to represent India during the 2026 tour of Ireland. If selected, he will make his senior international debut at the remarkable age of just 15. This information has been confirmed by a reliable source within the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

'He has a significant chance of being included in the squad for the Ireland tour,' stated the official. 'His name is among the list of potential players.' Additionally, the BCCI representative mentioned that Vaibhav is also being considered for the Zimbabwe tour later in 2026. The selectors have high hopes for this young talent, and if he excels in these international outings, he could secure a permanent position in the national team.

Chasing Sachin Tendulkar's Record

Should Vaibhav earn his India cap, he is set to surpass a long-held record by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. Currently, Tendulkar holds the title for the youngest player to debut for the Indian senior men's team, having made his first appearance at the age of 16 years and 205 days during the 1989 tour of Pakistan. In contrast, Shafali Verma is the youngest debutant for the Indian women's team, debuting at 15 years, seven months, and 27 days. Vaibhav is now in a position to potentially break Sachin's iconic record.

Support from IPL Chairman

Arun Dhumal, the chairman of the Indian Premier League (IPL), has also expressed his support for Vaibhav's inclusion in the national team. In a recent post on social media platform 'X', Dhumal remarked, 'Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is performing exceptionally well in this IPL season. This young talent deserves a chance to debut for the Indian team. Given his outstanding performance, the BCCI should consider him for selection. It is uncommon to see such talent at a young age receive a national call-up, and he certainly deserves the opportunity to become the youngest player to represent India.'
