Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, the young batting prodigy from Rajasthan Royals, expressed his joy after clinching several accolades during the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) season. He described the experience as incredibly enriching, emphasizing the valuable lessons learned that will aid him in pursuing a long-lasting career in cricket. Sooryavanshi revealed that he had set a personal target of scoring 700 runs before the season commenced, which he diligently monitored using notes on his phone. Achieving this goal, alongside his overall performance, brought him immense satisfaction. "Winning these awards feels fantastic. This season has been a great learning opportunity for me. I've absorbed a lot, both on and off the field, and I recognize that to sustain my career, I need to focus on certain areas. That's my plan moving forward, and I aim to excel in the upcoming matches. I had noted my goal of 700 runs in my phone's Notes app, and I tracked my progress after each match, which helped me achieve it," Sooryavanshi shared during an interview on JioHotstar.

Sooryavanshi's performance in IPL 2026 was nothing short of remarkable, as he swept multiple awards, including Most Valuable Player, Emerging Player of the Season, Super Striker of the Season, Orange Cap winner, and Super Sixes of the Season. The 15-year-old from Bihar emerged as the highest run-scorer with an impressive total of 776 runs, boasting a phenomenal strike rate of 237.30. His consistent displays, highlighted by a record-setting 72 sixes, allowed him to break numerous long-standing IPL records and solidify his status as one of the brightest prospects in Indian cricket.


At just 15 years old, Sooryavanshi also made history by becoming the youngest player to win the Orange Cap. The previous record was held by Sudharsan of Gujarat Titans, who won it at the age of 23 years and 231 days in 2025, while Shubman Gill had set the record in 2023 at 23 years and 263 days.
