Vadodara Hosts Cyclothon to Promote Cleanliness and Fitness

A cyclothon took place in Vadodara aimed at encouraging cleanliness and fitness as part of the 'Fit India Sundays on Cycle' initiative. This event, aligned with the goals of 'Viksit Bharat', 'Fit India', and 'Green Vadodara', attracted thousands of cyclists, including approximately 1,500 children, civic officials, and local residents who participated in the campaign.

Upcoming Visit by Prime Minister Modi

On September 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Vadodara and Navsari to inaugurate several development projects.

'Viksit Bharat' Initiative

Vadodara MP Hemang Joshi shared insights about the event, stating that the participation of thousands of cyclists in the cleanliness drive and rally was a warm welcome for Prime Minister Modi. He highlighted the special program created under the Viksit Bharat initiative, noting that all available spots were filled shortly after registration opened. Joshi remarked, 'The Cyclothon was organized with the vision of Viksit Bharat, Fit India, and Green Vadodara.'

Fit India Movement and Cleanliness Efforts

Vadodara Municipal Commissioner Arun Mahesh Babu mentioned that the 'Fit India Movement' and cyclothon involved around 1,500 children, officials, and citizens. He explained that a six-day cleanliness campaign targeted various locations, including temples, heritage sites, schools, anganwadis, hospitals, and ponds, culminating in a padyatra on the final day. 'We have collaborated with the Government of India for this initiative, and today marks the sixth day of our program,' he stated.

Public Engagement in Cleanliness Campaign

Prime Minister Modi has been actively involved with citizens regarding the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, stressing the significance of public participation in cleanliness efforts.
