He shared a video on social media showcasing his football session with young athletes in Haldwani, highlighting the vibrant energy of the youth.

The BJP has successfully secured victories in the last two elections in Uttarakhand, with the next polls scheduled for early next year.

Khel Mahakumbh: A Platform for Emerging Talent

Earlier this month, Dhami inaugurated the 'Khel Mahakumbh-Chief Minister's Championship Trophy 2026' at the Late Kailash Chandra Gahtori Sports Stadium located in Tanakpur, Champawat district.

The Chief Minister officially launched the event by passing the torch to renowned athlete Gehna Mahar. During the ceremony, athletes pledged to compete with integrity and sportsmanship, while also showcasing yoga and the traditional sport of 'Murga Jhapta', as reported by the Uttarakhand Chief Minister's Office.

Encouraging participants from across the state, Dhami remarked that the Khel Mahakumbh is becoming a significant platform for nurturing sporting talent from Uttarakhand's rural areas to state, national, and international levels.

He assured that the state government is dedicated to providing opportunities and resources to ensure that no talented athlete is overlooked.

This year's Khel Mahakumbh has been expanded to include competitions starting at the Nyaya Panchayat level, progressing through assembly and parliamentary constituencies, and culminating at the state level, thus offering athletes multiple opportunities to demonstrate their skills.
