State Trade Board Meeting Highlights Business Issues

On June 23, 2025, a meeting of the Uttarakhand State Trade Board's executive committee was held at Hotel Hari, located at the Old Ranipur Turn. The session was chaired by State President Rajendra Chautala, with Executive State President Sumit Arora facilitating the proceedings. During his address, Chautala emphasized that the trade board is actively working for the interests of traders across the state, noting an increasing number of merchants joining the organization.




Chautala pointed out that the issue of encroachment primarily affects middle-class traders, while illegal encroachments by outsiders near Har Ki Pauri and on bridges go unnoticed by law enforcement. He criticized the detrimental impact these encroachments have on local businesses, urging the police administration to take immediate action against illegal structures if they wish to support traders. Following discussions, Sumit Arora announced the expansion of the executive committee, appointing Sandeep Agarwal as the President of Haridwar Metropolitan, Babu Ram as the President of Rawli Mehdood Trade Board, Rohit Kumar as General Secretary, Vijay Kumar as Treasurer, Vinod Rathore as President of Jamalpur Trade Board, Subodh Sharma as State Secretary, and Dr. Vishnu Datt Verma as a committee member.




Arora reiterated that all officials would work diligently to protect traders' interests. State Vice President Bhagwat Agarwal highlighted the ongoing issues caused by frequent power outages affecting both traders and the general public. Vice President Vijay Prajapati and State General Secretary Atul Gosai mentioned that efforts are underway to unite various trade organizations across the state, with plans for a significant conference soon. Additionally, State Joint Secretary Deepak Gauniyal and Youth District President Vishal Goswami raised concerns about the disruptions caused by VIP visits to Har Ki Pauri, which often lead to roadblocks by police, inconveniencing local residents and traders. They called on the District Magistrate through the press to ensure that VIP arrivals utilize the CCR Dhanush Bridge route instead.
